Commentaires | Gian Luca Colombo’s Barbera d’Alba Superiore DOC is made from grapes grown in the commune of Magliano Alfieri, at 290 meters above sea level. The vines are around 50 years old, yielding small quantities of exceptional quality. Aged for nearly a year in large Austrian oak casks, with a small portion resting in used barriques and tonneaux, this Barbera displays remarkable depth and character. On the palate, it offers richness, balance, and length — a wine of both power and finesse, reflecting the true soul of its terroir. |
Suggestion gourmande | A perfect companion to meat-based starters and main courses, this wine also pairs beautifully with fine charcuterie or roasted beets. It truly shines alongside a mushroom risotto, a slow-cooked beef stew, or herb-roasted lamb. Try it as well with aged cheeses such as Castelmagno or Parmigiano Reggiano — a great Barbera d’Alba finds its fullest expression in such refined pairings. |

Alongside this, he works as a consulting winemaker throughout the Langhe region. Gian Luca is deeply committed to a respectful, sustainable approach to viticulture. He farms biodynamically, raises sheep, and plants trees and other vegetation to promote biodiversity in a region that often lacks it.
