| Cépages | Nebbiolo |
| Vinification | 70% aged for 18 months in stainless steel; 30% aged for 12 months in large oak casks. |
| Notes de dégustation | Elegant and refined, it opens with aromas of ripe red fruits — juicy cherry, raspberry, and a touch of redcurrant — unfolding with softness and precision. Subtle spicy nuances follow, suggesting hints of cinnamon, sweet pepper, and a gentle whisper of vanilla. Together, these notes create a harmonious, finely crafted bouquet that highlights the wine’s finesse and complexity. |
| Commentaires | It reveals an unexpected side of Nebbiolo: gentler, more fragrant, and deeply expressive of its terroir. An elegant yet never austere interpretation, winning the palate with its remarkable balance. |
| Suggestion gourmande | Perfect alongside flavorful first courses — generous pasta dishes, creamy risottos, or mushroom-based preparations. It shines even more when paired with roasted, grilled, or slow-cooked meats. Its balance and finesse allow it to complement both structured dishes and more delicate recipes, enhancing every bite without ever overpowering the food. |
Mondano is born from a single vineyard—one of the highest and most wind-kissed parcels on the estate. Perched above the rolling hills, this site enjoys constant breezes and a full Southern exposure, a rare combination that slowly concentrates color, flavor, and fragrance in each cluster. Season after season, the vine seems to gather not only sunlight, but also the quiet intensity of the landscape, distilling it into a Nebbiolo of exceptional depth.
This is a Nebbiolo shaped by “blue” sensations: ripe plum, blackcurrant, wild blueberry. These fruit tones stretch into darker, more mysterious notes—graphite, violet petals crushed between the fingers, a hint of cool earth after rain. A subtle balsamic lift adds brightness, like a ribbon of fresh air threading through the wine.
On the palate, Mondano is both powerful and deliberate. The tannins feel sculpted rather than strict, firm but refined, guiding the wine across the tongue in slow, confident steps. There is tension here, and elegance; richness, yet remarkable clarity. The finish lingers with a saline whisper, as though the wine is reluctant to leave the senses too soon.
Mondano is not simply a Nebbiolo — it is the voice of a single hillside, captured in a bottle.
